Pineapple


The king of tropic fruits pineapple, decorating shop windows, is not rare even in the north areas. The juicy fruit in scaly apparel is very demonded in the winter. Phinepapple is rich of substances, which help us avoiding vitamin deficiency.

The motherland of pineapple is Brazil and Paraguay, where it met in wild form. It was traveled by the Indians through South and Central America, in east India, before Columb discovered America. In 1493, Cristopher Columb find a fruit on Gwadelupa island. Gwadelupa distributed pineapple all over the world by ships, on which pineapple has been used as remedy against scurvy. Pineapple reached England in 1660, and in 1720 it started beeing growed in greenhouses.
